What to Pack

Like any big trip, there’s a lot of things to remember. Check out the list below to help you remember to pack everything you might need. In bold are items that you should definitely make sure to pack!

Weekend Needs

  • Friendly, Helpful, Positive Attitude That Allows You To Assume Good Intentions
  • Cell Phone, charger, portable charger
  • Government Form of ID – yes they do ID in Charleston
  • Cash/Credit Cards (let your bank know you’re traveling)
  • Ways to keep cool – cooling towels, mini battery operated fans, hand fans
  • Collapsible Wagon
  • Your willingness to take a chance; to do new things with band mates whom you don’t already know that well

Performance Needs

  • Instrument (Don’t laugh. It HAS happened!)–mouthpiece, reeds, lyre, carrier, sticks, mallets!
  • Sheet Music & Flip Folder
  • Lights for the Pajama March
  • Rain Jacket/Poncho/Umbrella/Rain shoes
  • Bag for your belongings (backpack, fanny pack, purse)
  • CamelBak/Water Bottle (Stay Hydrated!)
  • Battery operated fan
  • Extension Cords, Power Strips

Dorm Needs

Dorm Rooms have mini-fridge and microwave! They also have a shower with a shower curtain. There is a kitchen on the ground floor as well as free washer and dryers.

  • Bedding/Sheets/Linens/Blankets – The dorms have XLong Twin Mattresses
  • Pillows
  • Towels/Wash Cloths/Hand Towel
  • Beach Towels
  • Mattress Pads
  • Bath Matt or rug
  • Small Trash Can
  • Hand Soap
  • Toilet Paper
  • Paper towels
  • Garbage Bags
  • Hangers
  • Room decor if you would like to make it homey – no permanent decorations, drilling or residue tape etc
  • Decorations for your Balcony!
  • Alarm Clock
  • Optional Kitchen Comforts (coffee maker, can/bottle opener, pots and pans)

  • Extension Cords

Costume Themes

  • Family Day – Blue Sapphire and Rainbows
  • Pajama March – Pajamas/Lights
  • Patriotic Performance – Red, White & Blue
  • Be sure to bring any performance make up or instrument decor
  • Safety Pants – all of the performances are family friendly so check ya self 🙂 

Other Clothing Needs

  • Clothes – especially band logos
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Under roos
  • Sunglasses think fun but don’t discount UV protection
  • Swim Suit and Beach attire
  • Extra socks/undergarmets
  • Flip Flops
  • Semi nice clothes if you’re going out to a fancy dinner

Health and Beauty

  • Sunscreen

  • Bug Repellent
  • Soap, shampoo, razor, deodorant, toiletries (You’ll be sweating – so smell good)

  • Tylenol, Advil, Tums, Heartburn Meds
  • Pedialyte

There is a Walgreens on the corner near the Dorm. There is also a Harris Teeter a short walk away.

*Caution* the Elevator is Very Small and Temperamental… PLEASE DO NOT HOLD THE DOOR OPEN WITH YOUR H A N D – USE THE BUTTON ((If you use your hand… the elevator will short out… for the whole weekend!))
