Beltline Lantern Parade

September 9 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Saturday 9/7/17.  Sooooooo many lights and lanterns!!

Muster: 7:00pm-ish. Irwin Street near Krog Street
Step off: TBA
Costume: Light it up. Wear anything you like, then put lights, lanterns and glowy things on it.
Broom: TBA
Incorrigibles: Welcome, but honestly I don’t think they’ll love it and I think you’ll have more fun without them.  Long walk, late night, and a participatory parade with some adult beverages.

Parking: Somewhat tight but available at either end. Come early, hang out before the parade.
Marta: Doable but hard. 20 minute walk to the nearest station on either end. Midtown station near the end, Inman Park station near the beginning.

We walk on the Beltline from Irwin Street to Piedmont park.  The aerial pictures are amazing it’s like someone lit up the street.  If you’ve always wished to enjoy the Beltline without the stop and go obstacles in it.. this gig is for you.  Also, if you like to dance walk.. Especially if you like to dance walk while playing an instrument.  At the end, all of Atlanta’s Parade bands jam (that’s 6 bands y’all!).  Best enjoyed if you can figure out how to get back without having to walk all the way back.

Seeking: Band handlers (different from Despicables) to protect the band and facilitate an easy parade. Sign up here. They’ll have fun and get swag!
