Beltline Lantern Parade 10th Anniversary!
September 21 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Sooooooo many lights and lanterns!! Participatory parade from Irwin Street to Piedmont Park on the Beltline. This is their new, improved, perfected 10th Anniversary and to celebrate (also because it is our turn) we get to be THE FIRST BAND in the line-up! Woohoo!! That means you have to be there on time…
Muster: 7:00pm. Irwin Street near Krog Street. We’ll be playing on stage soon after.
Step off: Very prompt, We’re the 1st musical group
Costume: Light it up whatever you wore to EAV. Dress up for EAV, then put lights, lanterns and glowy things on it.
Incorrigibles: Welcome at your discretion. Expect a long walk, late night, and a participatory parade with some adult beverages and rowdy behavior.
Parking: Somewhat tight but available at either end. Plan ahead so you have a ride to either end. Uber!
Marta: Midtown station near the end, Inman Park station near the beginning. 20 minute walk to the nearest station on either end.
We walk on the Beltline from Irwin Street to Piedmont park. The aerial pictures are amazing it’s like someone lit up the street. If you’ve always wished to enjoy the Beltline without the stop and go obstacles in it.. this gig is for you. Also, if you like to dance walk.. Especially if you like to dance walk while playing an instrument. At the end, all of Atlanta’s Parade bands jam (that’s 6 bands y’all!–bring Bumper to Bumper and Ya move ya lose). Best enjoyed if you can figure out how to get back without having to walk all the way back.
We’ll have band handlers (different from Despicables) to protect the band and facilitate an easy parade. Calling ALL DESPICABLES.. This one is an all hands on deck event with large crowds and a narrow pathway.
