Friday 12/15– Annual Frazer Center Holiday Show! Since 1949, Frazer Center has been supporting people with disabilities to live meaningful lives, fully engaged in their communities. Currently, the nonprofit supports 85 adults with intellectual disabilities to work, volunteer, and pursue their interests in the community, and provides an inclusive early education program for 180 young children with and without disabilities. Each year, the adults supported by the Frazer Center produce a summer talent show and a winter holiday show for the staff, children, and adults at the Frazer Center. Our fly-by-night group will be joined by the holiday show performers for a parade into the performance space and a brief standstill to open the show. After we perform, you’re welcome to head out, or you can stay for the show which typically lasts 45-60 minutes. Here’s more info on the Frazer Center (www.frazercenter.org) and here’s a link where you can see snippets from last year’s show (http://www.frazercenter.org/2016-adult-program-holiday-show/)
When: Friday, December 15
Muster: 10 AM outside the entrance to Frazer Center’s Adult Program
Step Off: 10:15 AM
Where: Frazer Center, 1815 S. Ponce de Leon Avenue, NE, Atlanta, GA 30307. Directions: GPS may send you to our rear entrance, which is restricted to MARTA, so here are directions to our front entrance. Coming east on Ponce de Leon Avenue from downtown Atlanta, turn right onto Clifton Road. (There is a light here. Druid Hills Country Club and the turn to Fernbank Museum will be on your left.) Immediately, take your next left onto South Ponce de Leon. Just before South Ponce de Leon merges back into Ponce de Leon, you’ll see a gated entrance on your right and a sign for Frazer Center. Turn right into the drive then follow it through the woods all the way to the paved parking lot at the top of the hill. Our building will be on your left. There should be parking available in this lot, but if not there is an overflow lot around the midway point of the driveway. I’ll meet you outside the entrance to our Adult Program by the flagpole.
MARTA: The nearest MARTA station is Candler Park, which is 1.4 miles from Frazer Center. MARTA Bus Route 2 stops near the entrance. It operates from North Avenue and East Lake train stations.
Broom: Paige will play and broom, with plans to pass the baton to an honorary broom from among the Frazer Center performers.
Costume: Holiday festive! No Seed & Feed logos…it’s a fly-by-night, not an officially sanctioned gig
